Enclosed in sonorous dens of devastating overtones and tension, Ammothea’s “Terminal Burrow” radiates immersive waves of incantatory sound to invoke a rhythmic daze. In this subterraneous space, a panorama of electric guitars expose a paradoxical experience between sensational extremities and enigmatic reverb as mesmerizing drumming sustains a voice of delirium that sears through shrouds of rumbling decibels. Hallucinogenic, hypothermic compositions that are alternately disorienting and lucid transmit an instinct of doom as “Terminal Burrow” burns slowly into a mysterious haze. The total surrender to the album’s grave of breathtaking frequencies and cauterizing melodies conjures a deeply reflexive intensity, like a glorious final meditation.

Merci Déhà for the download code. Lots of bands use these ingredients – pretty female vocals over doomy guitars always sounds good, but usually that's where the ideas run out. That isn't the case here. Each song is packed with ideas and evolutions, genres and references it's boring to list but not at all to listen to. A pleasure to have been introduced to this. Luke
